He has long been admired and will forever be remembered for his outstanding baseball career which is known the world over. However, he wanted to be known for more than baseball.
His dreams went beyond the ball field. He wanted to help youngsters who, like himself, were not privileged to go to baseball camp or join a little league team to develop their skills.
He believed he could make a difference in their lives if they could be given opportunities to succeed.
His initial goal was to provide financial assistance to 755 youngsters to pursue their dreams in their chosen talent.
Henry's foundation has assisted many, many more than (his total homeruns) 755 elementary and high school students at neighborhood-based organizations throughout the country and US military bases in other countries.
